tonight

O.K. this is really strange.  I am sitting outside in the gloaming writing on my lap top.  Mashall and Henry made a fire in the fire pit then after lighting it went to play video games.  So here I am typing on a blog, sitting around a camp fire? Primitive woman meets modern life?

What do you do?

What do you do when bad things happen to really really good people?  It shakes my faith in humanity.  It makes me want to lash out and relish in the anger i feel even if they can't for themselves.  I want to be a good friend and protect, I want to fight even if there is nothing I can really do.

I like to plot revenge, even if it is a plot that will never really hatch.

To my friends be strong I am in your corner.

Its always nice to know a pit bull.

I don't think you will ever know about the sand dunes, because so much has happened (good) since then.  Do you want to know about the sand dunes?  Do you care?

Rube Goldburg and the Bees

Suzanne shows us the easy way to collect a swarm of bees.  A suit, ladder, wooden plank, bungy cord, box and t-ball bat are all you need.  The swarm is in the tree behind her just above the bat.  Click on photo for a closer look.  The video is not quite as exciting as the boys thought it would be, but I'm impressed.
Tom
This is our third swarm this spring from our two hives, but our hives are still active with bees.

A few stolen moments.
Summer....soon

nature

Spring is under way.  The Bees swarmed.  Too bad they were 30 feet up in the spruce where we could not catch them.  I posted the swarm on craigs list and had 5 people who wanted bees.  Click on the picture that looks like snow.  It's cool.

Chickens survival

"Oh I had a little chicky
And she wouldn't lay an egg
So I poured hot water
Up and down her leg
And the little chicky hollered
And the little chicky begged
And the little chicky laid me
A hard boiled egg!"
Have a Wonderful Week,

Painting the coop

The Boys did a stellar job.

Albert the Chicken Master

Albert wants to be a falconair when he grows up.  Start on chickens, move to geese, then hummingbirds, robins, magpies, buzzards then...
