Here are some experiences that make me the best fit to become the caretaker of Hamilton Island.

American Field Service(AFS) exchange Devonport, Tasmania Australia January 1984-85
Lived with the Bailey family, still in touch to this day
Attended Don College, moved to Leith
Spent time on a poppy farm in North Motton with the Shadbolt family
Pieman river experience of a lifetime caught eel, and so many crayfish!
Met and appreciated other students from Australia, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Canada, Bali etc...
Enjoyed Vegemite sandwiches (still do), sausage on the Barbi, boxing day, Aussie cray fish,
Cricket and VFL
Learned incredible skills living abroad as a high school student

Willamette University, Salem Oregon 1990.
Graduated with a Bachelor of Science, a major in Art
Diverse wonderful small liberal arts education

College Exchange, Watford England 6 months Senior year.
Lived with the Hazelton family (still in touch)
Traveled extensively within England, visited my extended Howell family
Still love sausage rolls, and pasties, and cadbury chocolate, and Cricket
Then 6 year old son, David came to visit in Colorado Springs just last year

Eu Rail Pass 2 months
Traveled with a ruck sack, stayed in youth hostels all over Europe
Spent a week in Dubrovnik Yugoslavia, before fall of Communism
Spain, Ireland, France, Italy, Austria, the Netherlands, Germany
Was an INCREDIBLE experience that gave you just a taste of the local flavors

Keystone ski resort, Keystone Colorado 4 years 1990-1994
Waited tables at night
Skied 100 days the first year
Skied 80 days the second year....
Obtained Sommelier degree
Meet so many people, tourists and worker, and locals...fun

St. Thomas United Stated Virgin islands 6 months 1995
Sailed, snorkeled, sunbathed, waited tables
WOW!!!!!

Moved back to Colorado Springs 1995

National Distributing Colorado Springs Co 4 years 1995-2000
Represented over 300 wines from all over the world
Responsible for over 40 accounts, including 2 key accounts
Won numerous sales contests, trips 
Increased territory dollars consistently every year
Chosen to participate in management training program (first Shelia ever)

Married Tom Burkle 1997

Home birthed 3 kids:  1999, 2001, 2005

Part time work at local wine stores
